Special Splish splash guest Coach Luci

We had a special guest today, Coach Luci, a private swim coach here in Franklin. She did a wonderful presentation for our older classes about water safety. They got to sing songs, listen to a special story, and get some good safety information! Thank you, Coach Luci!!!

PreK Prom 2012

We had our second annual PreK Prom at AoCS and it was a major success!  Our theme this year was "Under the Sea".  We turned the center into a virtual underwater paradise!  As you walked in the door you were greeted by the sounds of the ocean and a fantastic view of some kid-made fish.  The walls were adorned with sand and seaweed.  You looked up and it was as if you were trapped under the beautiful blue water.  Some of the activities we had were:  Ocean in a bottle, make your own picture frame, corsage station, fishing hole, and dancing.  We had some wonderful underwater snacks as well including:  octopus in a blanket, grilled "fish" sandwiches (grilled cheese in the shape of fish), sushi (kid friendly, of course), a variety of goldfish, wiggly water (blue jello with Swedish fish in it), and ocean water (blue Hawaiian punch).  The kids and adults alike all seemed to love these festive snacks!  We had some dancing and music, but it seemed the best parts were the food and the pictures!

Our Academy families joined us this morning for a fabulous breakast with our Director Wendy Gannon.

Our Director, Wendy Gannon, was born and raised in the Nashville area.  She attended Brentwood High School and The University of Tennessee at Knoxville.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  She comes to us with 7+ years experience in childcare and 6+ years in management.  She has an eleven month old son, Porter (pictured above).  Her vision for The Academy of Cool Springs is to provide the highest quality child care while maintaining a strong sense of family.  She wants the center to be a fun, safe, and friendly place for children to be.

Pre-K Two makes Snowmen

Mackenzie's mom was so great to our Pre-K Two class last week! She came in with supplies to create snowmen keepsakes for all the kids. They had such a blast making these. A huge thank you for such a special surprise!

Preschool One in Action!

Ms. Heather & Ms. Kim really do a fantastic circle time. Last week they taught their two year old class an old classic-- Little Bunny Foo-Foo. It was adorable! Here's some pics of the fun.

Santa Visits!

We celebrated Christmas at The Academy with a visit from Santa! Most of our friends loved having this extra visit, but I must say our little baby friends would have none of it! Here are a few shots.
 I also want to add that I promise that not one baby was traumatized by their moment with Santa. :)

What a Year!
